hey guys, i want to target 2 keywords.

    offtopic and chatroom.

theres no reason why i cant buy a domain ie: offtopicchatroom yeah?

because the full domain has my search words "offtopic" and "chat room"

good idea or not the right thing to do, i believe it could be an orsm idea for ranking 2 key words.

have you guy got any thoughts about this, sounds good or?

because by the end of the day its people searching the term words in google true?

    thanks guys. jay

Do you want to run a serious business or just yet another flipping site?

If you are serious, I would recommend choosing a Branding name, not keywords domain name.

I still like ontopic short or easy to remember domain names. Whether a particular keyword or phrase is in the domain name or not. It is still easy enough to build popularity. But, whatever works for you.

length doesnt really matter as long as users are ready to type it out and not a good idea to mention a domain name here which you havent registered yet

By the way, now the majority of two-letter domains are occupied

I suggest you register domain names that people can easily remember.

If you're just trying to drive traffic or 'one time' users to your site, domain doesn't matter that much. What's important at the beginning is good promotion and SEO/keywords etc. However if you want to create a memorable site or community that is actually committed to itself, you will need something clever or short. Put yourself in your users shoes.

Another growing trend are vanity/word completion domains (where you get a country tld that is actually part of the site name or completes it). However these domains are usually way more expensive.

Why not shorten it down and go for something like:

    - offchat
    - offtopichat
