I was thinking about starting (or joining) a Domain Investment Club in Houston, Texas. I imagine a club where domainers would get together and talk about all domaining subjects. And of course they could make face to face deals, etc. Do these type of clubs exist already? Does your city have one?
Domaining is not a hobby or a job you can make easily face to face With such great variety and worldwide open access i wonder how many domainer you can find in a single town/city It's much better with a forum to achieve better results than face to face deals
There are real estate investment clubs all over the world. I was thinking this could be similar. Just an idea...
We do have a small club. Private one. That is how my own forum came into existance. We are getting some good domainers and are sending them an invitation so our club grows bigger. 4 people were taken in this year. But when the group investment comes, we have to select persons who have ethics and are competitive in their subjects. We have investors with backgrounds like domain parking geeks, developers so we can have in-house development and some SEO's.
This is different from what you said in the start It's another goal to make a domain club and another to invest all together to a domain I've seen 1 or 2 already but not a brick and mortar club
Yes that's right. Virtual clubs there are. But then it can be called as a group also don't know exact meaning of club. I am not so good at all that meaning stuff.
Nick, Does your club pool money together to buy domains? Or is it just a club for discussing domain related topics, network, make trades, etc? Thanks!
Yes the group puts in money when the amount is bigger. Sometimes the amount is not so big so people make 100% investment in some parts. In some it is a combined effort. Most of the members in that group are the people whom we have met somewhere or on some forum or domain auction. Slowly the friendship developed and we all were already doing it, like partnering in this and that. Yahoo conference rooms helped a lot
