Should I stop having the domain url in my meta tags title tag? My titles look like this: domainname.com - About domain name.. Is this bad for seo?
OK, thanks for reply, but even though good for seo maybe bad for click ratio as domain name isnt that interesting to click on as would for example a better sales title.?
You can try an another way is to use combination of URL and keywords on the title just be sure it is strategically placed and not need to look like stuffed.
Always use your most important keyword first in your meta title, domain could come later like this <title> My best keyword here : mydomain.com </title>
The Meta Tags Talk To Search Engines Meta tags are snippets of code placed within the head. Normally, they only speak to search engines. Not having the right one could cost your website it’s rightful placement and could lead to poor impressions (Not a lot of traffic). There are several Meta Tags which are important. Two of them are extremely valuable. The Description Meta Tag Talks To Search Engines & Visitors The description will commonly expand on the brief headline presented by the title. Not only will the information in this tag be of value in helping a search engine determine placement of your website within search results, but the description contained in this tag is normally shown along with the title when the search engine shows the returns for a search. Failure to provide a description will not only make it more difficult to get good placement with returns, it is also likely That in the absence of a description, the search engine will simply grab the first few words it sees on your page, and that may be what the viewer reads as a description of your website. It is a good idea to repeat your keywords in the description, don't get too carried away. Also, most search engines will only display the first 20 or so words of the description, so don't get too wordy up front. Say what you have to say and get it over with. The description should not exceed 150-200 characters.
hi..u have to try 1. <title>your 1st keyowrd | ur 2nd keyword</title> or 2.<title> your keyword from website domain name</title> etc.................. thanks
Good or bad depends on your goal. If you need to target some keywords for that page then prefer to use targeted keywords. Rather using URL in title the best idea is to use only Domain Name without extension which increase your branding. Using URL in meta tag is not a good idea, reason is no buddy is going to search you by typing your URL in search engine and suppose if any buddy use to search you by URL then your website already rank on first position because the domain name is yours only.
I think you should avoid his practice because excessive use of URL in tags and make it spammy and devalue the importance. Just use keywords in title tags ans other important title information, that will be a better practice.
You are asking specifically about "Is this bad for SEO". NO, it is not bad and YES, it is good for SEO. Google some keywords and you'll see from the top 10 sites, they have a domain name written in their title tag. WHY. Because these sites are not only optimizing their keywords, but they are also working on their business name (usually domain name is same as business name) to become a brand among their targeted audience. Tip: Write your company/domain name at the very end of the title tag: Example: B2B Marketplace, Manufacturers Directory & Buyers Lead - www.YourSiteName.com Hope this helps.
Title tag is part of On-site optimization. Indeed, this will help you to boost up your target keywords. There are a lot of factors to be considered in SEO such as domain age, site structure, linkbuilding, etc... Good luck.
