Does having a hyphen in a domain actually have any negative effect on SEO or do people always trash hyphenated domains just because they're hard to type? I don't see any reason why Google would treat a hyphen negatively but every day you see people trashing hyphenated domains. If I'm just interested in SEO and not traffic retention, would a keyworded hyphenated domain be sufficient?
it's a good way to get your keywords into your domain, so I think it would help before it would hurt. If you're running a business i'd grab both hyphened and non-hyphened versions.
