Hello, I read on one blog that Google Apps provide domain for 10$ per year, where you get Standard Package of Google Apps (GMail, Calender etc) with it. But whats difference? Even Name.com provides Google Apps free for your domains. In Name.com we can't use Google Apps (like GMail) when we change default name servers. For eg. We have to keep ns1.name.com, ns2.name.com etc in order to access Google Apps. If we change it, Google Apps stop functioning. But in famous blog, author said (Labnol.org) - So the owner is hosting website on DreamHost.com so obviously his name servers are ns1.dreamhost.com,ns2.dreamhost.com etc But still he can access GMail - Google Apps - mail.labnol.org So My Question is - If I purchase domain from Google Apps then can I change name servers and yet I can use Google Apps like GMail etc? Thank you
I think you should purchase domain from Name.Com using Coupons, costs only $8.25 and install use Google Apps with it. You can use anything with that, docs, calender or anything else. There is no problem at all. Regards
Better purchase domain name from any registrar like name.com / godaddy / namecheap etc and then apply for Google aps standard edition (free). If you purchase domain name from any other registrar, you may use the domain name to get a cpanel hosting and also use Google aps on your domain name. You will need manage DNS service to activate Google aps on your domain name. Best suggestion: Purchase domain name and also purchase a cpanel hosting. With cPanel hosting, you will be able to to build website. And then ask your web hosting company to setup Google aps on your account.
I'd still recommend purchasing domain from name and use it without cPanel as it will save your cash u'd pay for hosting otherwise and you can use GApps without any server issues......GApps will never go down this way.... Personally I am using it and i m very satisfied.
