Domain forwarding set up incorrectly? Google not indexing my site.

    Hello,

I recently set up am ecommerce site at which was indexed by Google as soyaromas.myshopify.com. Google only indexed one page but I think this is because there wasn't much content on the site at the time.

However I recently made some changes to the CNAME records on my domain and through the Shopify admin which now has my site set up tot he real domain I purchased which is www.soyaromas.com.

I mad this change last week so maybe I just need to be patient, but I'm worried that I set it up incorrectly in a way that Google doesn't like.

You can review the step I took online at: http://forums.shopify.com/categories/1/posts/25774

    Thanks!

You need to redirect the old URL to the newly purchased domain name using 301 redirections, and properly get some inbound links for the new domain instep to make the indexing nor cashing process faster ;)

Start with social bookmarking websites, and maybe directory & articles submission... (Build Backlinks)

    wp-themes,

Thanks for the response. I went ahead and updated my site using Google's webmaster tools. I added my sitemap feed to google and did some other things which should help. The funny thing is that if you search google for site:www. soyaromas.com it shows up, I think it just needs some time to show up in Google's results....
