domain forwarding question

    If I forward a domain to a new should i include a sitemap for both domains into google webmaster tools?

    no, just do a 301 redirect from old domain and submit sitemaps for new domain

    if you are godaddy client,
    you can select 301 or 302 redirect and no need to prepare sitemap etc.

    So how does it work?

    Does it have to be that whatever document is requested inside a domain gets a 301 redirect to the equivalent document in the new domain?

    Or do you just put it in like the root of the site?
