Has anyone else heard about the domain farm penalisation. basically the same as link farms whereby google finds bunches of links which match certain characteristics but on a domain instead. basically google finds domains which have been made for the sole purpose of linking back to another domain with the attempt to increase the rank for that site. has anyone seen a drop in serps when they have used this method?
I don't see how a domain farm differs from a link farm. It's the same thing for me and it will always get penalized. Make sure you host your sites on different IPs at least
yes it will get you trouble. and zexy is right there's really not much of a difference between the two things but as bohol said if the number its not to big, you shouldnt worry
This is the first time I have heard of the term "domain farm". It seems like people are always trying to find new ways to trick google.
Depends on how many domains do you have cross linking, I would avoid this kind of stuff where possible as sooner or later something will go wrong. Stick to basic SEO rules, long term this is a better option.
yes, there have been adsense millionaiers who have 500+ sites and used to cross link among their domains-but google caught up with them and penalised many of them Imagine-he creates a new website and links it from 499 other websites, many with good PR and traffic-he dont need anything else and we all wouldn't have had a chance-so G penalises such linking
