    Hi Guys

A competitor has taken the .com extension to my .co.uk domain he then went through all my back links and submitted to as many as he could and now ranks at no 20 on Google for my main keyword I rank at no5 still.

My question is this will Google see this and think its me that is trying to get 2 sites to rank and can this harm me with some penalty if so should I contact Google now and let them know this is what has happened.

This site is only 3 weeks old and I think has climbed so fast in the serps on the back of mine.

    Anybody with any advice please

How is this theft? Did you not register the .com domain as well?

No, if he has different content, you will not be penalized by Google. Don't worry, continue creat fresh and unique content.

I know this is too late, but people should always register other domain extensions to avoid this type of problem.

You shouldn't have any issues with Google, especially since the .com site is registered to another individual/company. It appears, though, that this person is looking to copy all of your links, in which case I would try to find links that cannot easily be copied.

I doubt they will think its the same site... Server locations will give that away

If you didnt want competitor you should have bought up all ext to the domain... especially the .com .net .org .co.uk ect ect
