Ok so i know this excellent excellent domain... i mean its not a PR ranking one...not even has any backlinks..its a PR 0 domain..the thing is i like the name very much..and its expiring in aug 9.. what i wanted to know is..if i want to palce a backorder..which site is best? pool.com? enom or godaddy? also godaddy's backorder is the cheapest 18$ something..but if my backorder is unsuccessfull can i be refunded the amount? Also..is there any site which will tell me that once a domain is expired, how many people have placed Backorders on it?i googled a lot but cudnt find one.. Please give me feedback..this domain means a lot to me...as its realted to my field of work. Also is it good to backorder now itself? or near the expiring date? Thanks in advance..
If you really want the domain, it's best to backorder the domain through as many backordering services as possible. So SnapNames, Pool, and eNom. You can also backorder through Godaddy, but you'll be charged the fee regardless of whether the backorder is successful or not (if unsuccessful, you can apply the backorder credits to a different domain). You can find out if the domain has already been backordered on eNom by first backordering it, then comparing the default bid amount ($60) to the highest bid for the domain. If the 2 numbers don't match, you know someone else has also backordered it. You can also find out on Godaddy because only 1 person can backorder any given domain... So if their system won't let you backorder it because "domain has already been backordered" you know someone else is interested. There's no way to find out if someone else backordered it on Pool. It's a good idea to backorder closer to the *drop* date. The drop date is the date the domain is being deleted from registry. Depending on the registrar, the drop date can as much as 80 days after the domain's expiry date. So if the domain is expiring August 9, that doesn't mean it will be available for registration on Aug 10. Who is the registrar for the domain? What is the domain expiry date according to WHOIS?
the registrar is Registrar: TUCOWS INC. Whois Server: whois.tucows.com Status: clientTransferProhibited Status: clientUpdateProhibited Status: clientDeleteProhibited Expiration Date: 9-aug-2007 btw..if he has already renewed the domain..the expiration should not have been there riute? like for some it shows expiration date as 2010 etc...
also..what does this mean? Name Server: NS2.ANYTHING.COM Name Server: NS1.ANYTHING.COM its non existent NS's..i think theres a good chance i might get it right? he/she hasnt even parked the domain.. Updated Date: 13-oct-2006 does this mean he is not going to renew it??
i am not a guru, but to open an account on pool.com you need a cc, theysay u are charged $60, never backordered though
If he hasn't parked the domain, it doesn't mean that he is not interested in the domain. Anyways, best of luck for backorder. The domain will expire on 9th August 2007 if he don't renew before that but there is still couple of months delay period before it is available to register again (known as grace period).
He has not renewed the domain name yet. Each registrar is different, so the amount of time the domain will be in registrar-hold / redemption period will be dependent on Tucows' domain name agreement. Also, keep an eye on the Tucows expired domain auction site. If the domain appears there, then you will not be able to snap it up through a backorder with Pool, eNom, or SnapNames. Tucows pre-releases their expired domains, which means that instead of being deleted from the registry (and thereby being available through a backorder), the domain is made available to the public through an open auction. The Tucows auction site is https://ddirect.domainauctionservice.com
luckily my domain is not in that tucows auction list! voila..does that mean..that thers a good chance of me getting that domain? dataminer thanks for all the info...rep added..
Ok, first of all wait to see that domain will actualy not be renewed. Don't get over excited, owner might renew it, still has PLENTY of time. If it indeed expires there will be some grace period, probably about 45 days. Be sure to check in that period that domain did not enter Tucows expired domain auction. Because if it will and somebody buys it there its going to go directly into their account. If the domain expires and does not go to auction in 45 days after expiration and you see it changing to "redemption period" or even "pending deletion", than this is what I recommend: 1. backorder at Godaddy. They will try to grab domain once it is deleted from registry (about 75 days after expiry date). They kind of suck, but they are cheap and they accept only one backorder per domain. 2. do not backorder at snapnames. Snapnames will automaticly try to snap any expired name after it is deleted, if it is backordered or not. It will go to 5 days auction. If this happend bid 5 minutes before auction ends not to attract attention from other domainers. There is good chance you'll get it for less than $60 initial backorder fee (I got 2 domains for $39 using this tactic). 3. if you really want the domain bad, backorder it at pool.com and pay the $60 fee. I heard they are the best at snapping names and if somebody else orders it there (you can not know that), you will be at least able to participate in auction there (which is closed type, only for people that backordered).
NP. If the domain is expiring on Aug 9, then it won't appear in the tucows auction site until afterwards. I've been watching a Tucows domain that expired in late May, and it hasn't appeared in the auction site... Here's more information on the timing for Tucows domains: http://documentation.tucows.com/domainauction/enduser/about_bidding_on_a_domain.htm#timingdetailed The documentation on Tucows Auctions is vague... So I'm not 100% certain that all expiring Tucows domains will go through their auction site. Can anyone clarify this?
My post was written in assumption you are after .com. Because if it is not .com snapnames does usually not attempt to snap it automaticly if not backordered
