I searched for a domain that was not available. When I checked the whois it expired in 2003. How come it hasn't become available again? Is there any way i can get hold of it?

    Did you try searching elsewhere?

    And at different times?

Maybe the WHOIS result is cached and the site has been registered since.

I would second uca's advice and try searching at a few different registrars and see if any of them allow you to register it.

I have seen this happen also. I have used one registrar that says it is available such as Yahoo and the other says it is not. It is most likely cached wrong and the real information is just not being shown on the Whois.
