I want to purchase a domain that has an expiry date of 2006-8-26. Yes, it has expired.. but when I search for it.. it shows that the domain is still not available. Also the whois Info of the previous owner is still available..

How long does it take to release the domain for others to purchase it????

There is around 2 to 3 months grace period for the previous owner to own it again if he/she likes. so you can get it after 2 - 3 months if not registered again.

snapnames puts the domain in auction (if acquired) with a minimum bid of $60. If you desperately need it, you have to bid high. If you are the only bidder, you get it at $60. But remember, there are many last minute bidders.:D So be aware when the auction is ending.
