Domain expired 9+ weeks ago and I still can't buy it

I recently came across a domain name that I was looking to purchase that has expired. Here is the message I get when going to the domain, from the registrar:

So the domain expired way back on April 30th, and the 40 day grace period ended a month ago, yet it is still not available for purchase through any of the registrars I've checked. When will this domain become available for me to purchase?

 

most probably someone already bought it or it might have been renewed.I am not certain though.

 

After the grace period of 40 days, there is an additional 30 day period called as 'redemption period' and then another 5 days... before the domain name gets available in the market for purchase.

All in all, you have to wait for 75 days after the official expiry date... to be able to buy this domain!

it depends on the registrar.. I've seen redemption periods go on for six months or more
