I am looking at a .com domain that expired on 2012-11-27. According to my calculation, it should already be in Redemption period, but it isn't. DNS still works, whois is still intact... Any ideas? Thanks
It depend on registrar. Some of the registrar delete domains permanently after 45 days. Read your registrar policy.
Thank you. This will be interesting to see, never heard it can go into pending delete directly. I hope they don't renew, 2 or 3 days remaining.
Here is a link to ICANN's typical gTLD lifecycle: http://www.icann.org/en/resources/registrars/gtld-lifecycle However, as others have stated above, what actually happens to your domain prior the pendingDelete period is typically at your registrar's discretion.
