Hi I have a small problem. One of my biggest sites: http://www.sayeconomy.com/ has a keyword economy in the domain. It's all cool but I write articles on economics (the various theories, etc.).. Would it be therefore more appropriate to have a page named something to do with economics? Like littleeconomics.com or something like that? What is your opinion on this? Does it make sense to change the domain with approx. 16,000 links by Yahoo because of that economy/economics issue? I have purchased a domain economics.info. Is that domain worth anything? sayeconomy.com is actually a knowledge base about eonomics, so does .info domain makes sense in that case? Thank you all for your help!
It would be foolish to change domains. If you already have good linking structure then there is no reason to change. I would just reoptimize the pages a little and put a few keywords that are related to economics. Keep in mind that you are pretty much still in the same niche so this is not going to hurt anything. Hope that helps.
I am not agree with this change because its sound not reasonable. Domain age is one important key of SEO. If you do change the domain, you would have to start from the beginning again. It would not a fun for 301 redirect all content pages from the old domain either. You would get some little benefits of keyword in domain name but believe me - It's not worth it.
