I Have heard that few big guns have entered the domain buying/selling business and everything has become automated. i mean to say that they have built few script which does everything .

i can get the list of expired domain names daily ...

but i find it almost impossible to grab good names ..
    the 4 letters LLLL.COM
THE ONES WITH HIGH PR ....

    I SEEM TO MISS EVERYTHING

ANY SUGGESTIONS ? SHOULD I CONTINUE OR QUIT ?

I dont think anyone should quit when they have lost a few battles, there is still alot of money to be made by the smart domain resellers. Pick them carefully and focus on a certain niche. AND never over price your domains like some dumb people on ebay thinking PCdecorations.com is worth $1,000,000 hahaha

I agree with Dan! Just because you've seen some hot-shots that have an automated system, doesn't mean you can still do well.

BUT.. Keep in find, if you've got a really good domain name you may have to use other methods of selling. EBay doesn't sell than many big money sites. You'll find them on Sedo, SitePoint, etc.

It depends. I just had a domain on SitePoint bundled with 4 other domains listed at $25 and it didn't sell. I put it on ebay as a last resort and it ended up selling for $78. I was rather pleased.

All good dropping names are registered by Drop catchers like SnapNames, NmeJet, etc. and auctioned in their systems.

In theory you can, but in practice it is impossible, unless you build your own servers with large broadband connections to main registrars and bombing with register requests for selected domains between 11 AM and 2 PM Pacific time of domain deletion day ;)

With all due respect.. $78 for 5 domains isn't "big money".

But SERIOUS sales will still be available only with the big boys.

api scripts dont stand a a glacier's chance in greenland after global warming.

verisig for com/net has special drop catching threads for registrars which is why places look pool partnered up with so many registrars to catch everything. for other extensions you may stand a chance depending on their systems and competition levels but most don't like you hammering their servers.

I love the don't quit attitude, but if it isn't working out and youre just losing money, maybe go onto something like development, know when to cut your losses.
