Hi, i wan't to get my .com domain back. I only used it for mail (domain is a not so common surname), so i think the domain is not so valuable. whois says: Registrar: PSI-USA, INC. DBA DOMAIN ROBOT Status: redemptionPeriod Updated Date: 10-jan-2008 Expiration Date: 10-mar-2009 From reading this board i think, PSI-USA drops the domain on pool.com, or how does that work. Do i have a chance to newly register it normaly at a registrar. Or will this domain be grabbed anyway. Any good ideas? thx mad1max
recently i have seen domain speculators register whatever they get and see how the traffic is coming on the site and if they dont see much traffic, they delete the domain in the 5 day add grace period. If you think its a good name and is of value to you, then you can place a backorder at pool.com or snapnames.com or even godaddy.com or you can wait till the domain drops and see if anyone register it or not and wait for further 5 day time and if they drop it, then you can register it normally. Or, you can go for some other extension of the domain name. Ani
Unfurtunately the domain was grabbed by a registrar. And they already re-registered it. So i think they are Kiting. And it seems to cost them nothing. I only can hope that the corrupt ICANN is doing something (but that would be at eraliest in June), or the registrar is losing his interest.
Did you see the line "redemptionPeriod"? It means that you can still renew it yourself. Redemption Period lasts approx 30 days then followed by a 5 day Pending Delete period. During Redemption you can and you must contact your registrar and ask to renew the domain name on your behalf. Mind you, it will set you back for a certain amount of $$$ as there is a fee to reclaim a domain name from Redemption cycle. If PSI fails to act, you must fight for your rights and contact the body that governs (Internet Registry) the tld. For example, in Britain it is Nominet. You can find your Internet Registry by searching for it in GG. Good luck! P.S. PSI has no right to grab a domain name which is in redemptionPeriod, so I presume you will have to fight for it with a help of your Internet Registry!
