    Hi folks,
I have a indian city name as domain, using which I would like to start a business listing site. Is it alright ? is the government going to sue me for it ?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Emmanuel

No, nothing will happen. Nobody owns the copyright to any city name or Geographical location.

    But city business - YES.
So you can have trivandrum.biz but trivandrumyellowpages.biz might get you trouble.

Name of countries and states are not trademarked. However if you do decide to register, make sure that you do not badmouth the state or use it for any political agenda which is against the local government.
