Domain and hosting quick question

I want to buy a few domain names my current hosts charge £10 a year. I have found godaddy to be cheaper.

I want to buy the domains (.com) from go daddy or another us company and host the sites in the uk at my current host.

Will having the domain in one country and the hosting in another effect the speed of the website in loading or effect search engine results?

Just an opinion. Once the DNS propogates I would not think that it would.

I thought that it might matter because the computers are located in different parts of the world but I need some clarrification on this issue.

You can buy them from anywhere you want, without any difference, you'll host them in uk.

You will have no problems. There are many providers who buy domains from registrars based in different countries. Your domain will be parked on a nameserver, and since you will be using the nameserver of your UK based provider, it won't matter where you got your domain from.
