Domain age x Dmoz listing

There are so many threads about domain age..

Google likes old domains, and gives them good serps.

BUT, let's say I have a new domain..

If this domain is listed in DMOZ.. Would google reconsider this age factor ?

Google may think: "if the site is old, and it's not banned, so this may be a good site"

BUT: "if this site is listed in DMOZ, that means someone reviewed it and approved"

Does that make sense ? Any experiences, any thoughts ?

A DMOZ listing is better than no DMOZ, but the benefit is highly overrated (you can buy DMOZ listed domains on digital point for as little as $50). I have about a dozen DMOZ listed domains and you couldn't tell which ones were or weren't listed by looking at SERPS. The age of the domain is much more important - and getting links from "trusted sites" in your sector is better than a DMOZ listing imo.

I know that domain has more weight after 6-9 months of dmoz listing. I don't know does DMOZ link is better after 2 years or something.

A dmoz listing is good. But even if you manage to get a listing for a very new site, and than go ahead and build hundreds of links to it in a matter of weeks, all the time thinking that a dmoz listing gives you certain immunity from getting filtered in the serp's in google, you might be in for a nasty surprise.

Every link gains in google-trust when it ages. So that should be true for DMOZ links as well. Still, you have to work with what you have.
