In your opinion, Which is more important factor for higher ranking? Domain age, or a domain matched with targeted keywords exactly. Reason for asking: I am juggling between buying a aged domain (> 6 years) from GoDaddy that is pending deletion, and buying a new domain with my favorite keyword.
Buy a domain having keyword in the domain name .Age Factor is also important ,but not more like domain structure
Thanks for the reply. Regarding domain structure, How about something like: keyword-keyword.com, with dash symbol, does it work as good as that without dashes?
If that aged domain has been indexed already for a long time and has inbound links to it then it could be better than one with the actual keyword in it for immediate results. Long term it could be better to have the actual keyword in the domain but will take you longer to get results.
I think the domain name would be more powerful than the age. Then again, it would depend if the older domain already has several authoritative back links.
Domain with dash is also good if you know how to find the best and profitbale domain and than you can use and to rank it for profit, see sample here hxxp://www.digital-photography-school.com/ is owned by Darren rowse and he make thousand of dollar from this blog, and you see that domain with dash is also working to making a great money.
Age of a site has nothing to do with SEO which basically makes it no importance though well established sites would be a different discussion. Keyword in domain doesn't make so much difference either. But somehow, it is better to have and takes the little value than to have nothing at all.
Both are important at their own places... If aged domain name is not/ less related to your niche then you must go for domain with keywords in it. Its good to have your target keywords in your URL / domain name.
Both count But they aren't magical factors and won't get you on First Page just by having An Aged Domain with keyword match maybe on very low competitive keyphrases ...
EMD will help you with very, very, very low competition keywords. Other than that, I don't believe in paying attention to keywords in domain names. Even if it provides a slight boost, it looks salesy and it's bad for branding. Old established domains are nice for getting around sandbox limitations.
