Hi I am just learning domaineering. Over last few days - I have registered some domains which were registered few years back - but made available for re-register recently. I registered most of them on the day of deletion. But the new who-is data shows the domain as brand new. Of-course I am using only one registrar - and it is buying back the domains from other registrars. Why is this? Also, most of my domains have hundreds of backlinks -some PR5/6/7 - which have been there for long time. (Archive shows). Now - my domains are live again -- Can someone tell me when will the new domains get back their old PR? The previous backlinks are still there add will remain. All advices welcome.
You mention why on your post "I registered most of them on the day of deletion". So you buy drop domain. In my experience, if the PR was not fake, it will be back (or at least 1 or 2 rank below) at the next PR update. Just wait and see.
I think you mean domaining Once a domain has been dropped, the age will reset again so the day you register the name will be the new date of registration & the age will start from there
You let them drop, and then you purchased them - that's why they are showing up as 'brand new' domains. As far as I know, you need to back-order the domain so as to retain its age (I'm not into domaining, so please confirm this). If PR was available before the drop, then it will show up once you get the domain indexed (this has happened with me). If there was no PR before the drop, then it might/ might not appear on the next update. Most probably, it will appear as you mentioned PR5/6/7 backlinks
