I got a questions lately there has been a lot of talk about domain age the older the better.

Im wondering does the domain need to just be registerd for say 2 years or does it have to be registerd for 2 years and indexed by google?? or is it 3 years or what ever.

Just wondering what the right answer is for this?

just a domain itself is not enough. You should set up a first index.html page. I find that really helps in PR and indexing.

If you use those free parking site, I dont think it helps (Just IMO)

IMO the age of the domain in google's index is what counts(Date from which google has been crawling your site).. not the actual age (i.e from the date at which it is registered)

Correct, having an old domain is not enough, you should check archive.org to see whether it has a history there which greatly helps, age matters.

Yes the age of the site (which implies the age of the backlinks) which is most important. Old established domains tend to have alot of aged links.
