Domain age and seo

I recently bought a domain and started adding content. When I checked if all the tags and keywords appear I had the surprise to see the domain is 5 years old. Thought that was a mistake so checked the whois and got this:

    Created: 2009-09-02
    Expires: 2010-09-01
Whois History: 12 records have been archived since 2007-07-03

So the only logical explanation would be that the domain was registered 5 years ago and then expired. So regardles how many times a domain expires and it's registered again, his age starts since its first registratration? Older domains have a big seo advantage so in this case it will be considered as a 5 years old domain?

Nope. Domain age starts with the last registration made not the first one.. If it expired in between then it is not old.. Your domain is almost 2 weeks old now :)

    Thanks, that seems logical :)
I also checked with http://www.webconfs.com/domain-age.php (beautyadvice.biz) and says the same, 5 years. Maybe it takes some time to update the stats, I don't know..
