Hi, I created a few websites back in October / November of 07 and have tried the following to get some traffic and clicks. Basic onpage SEO Adding to free directories, including dmoz and other high ranking sites. Added all to stumbleupon Post occassionally in forums created myspace groups (no memebers join) created yahoo groups (no memebers join) created myweb yahoo beta groups (no memebers join) Joined Metro link exchange (Got worthless link requests) Might try making my own requests though, so maybe some hope. All my sites rank page rank 0. Is there a update coming soon? Each sites gets an average of 1-10 visitors a day after 2 - 3 months of being active. Any help is desperately needed. Please bare in mind, I only get 5 hours a week to do site updates. Thanks
1-10 visitors a day is NOTHING, use stumble upon, digg, sphinn and other services to promote your sites as well and your traffic will rise
oh this is really sad but u doing everything right. I am also create last October minimum 5 site and i get PR and also Traffic. My first Q is what type of site u have? Maybe u need Some Article Submit in blogs and article submition sites. U need to link exchange with related site. < Paid or Free > bla bla there is lots of way to get traffic. dont hopeless just try more. u must get traffic. if u need any help talk with me via IM. thanks
Hi, I started marketing my site in October as well, and am a complete newbie, but here's what I did: I joined about 30 traffic exchanges, the best of them WebBizInsider and Soaring4Traffic, a few SafeLists, like GlobalSafelist and AdTactics, and I used a few Search Engine submission sites, like EngineSeeker and MyEasySubmitter, where you can target your website to a really specific audience, using the dmoz and a few other things. I was amazed at how many services are free. I just have a site at GDI that I have created pages on to help fellow newbie marketers like myself, and of course if they use the links that I have in the banners, I'm building up a bit of a downline as well. If others are like me, they will click on a page that looks interesting when they are surfing free traffic exchanges etc, so my question for you is: what are your sites about, and do they invite participation? Anyway, just my two cents' worth here. Good luck! ~WritingHaven
thanks for the great advice so far, I will investigate some of the site building links for sure. 1)Cooking site with recipes (Used my grandma's cookbook, so it all unique content) 2) Marvel, Star wars, Lord of the rings, Dungeons and Dragons fan site 3) Toy recall information 4) Vampire related information from movies, games etc 5) Joke, pictures, and movie clips 6) home theater, and console setup photos Thanks
First of all, but your RSS feed from one into your profile here so that a recent post appears under your name. Write articles and make them available as Guest Blog Posts. Your cooking one could do well with that, and 'did you know' type articles may work for the others. More directories. Try to add them all to at least 3 a week. If I was in you situation I'd be tempted to just focus on my favourite site and work hard at promoting it more than the others. Helpful forum posts may also take a while to generate traffic, but once you are established on a forum you'll find it more rewarding.
