Doing good in yahoo but not in google.

I have done SEO of my site and its coming at No. 1 page in yahoo at postion 3 with keywords "Jute bags","Jute wine bags","Jute bags manufacturer" etc. But in google my site is not displaying in top 200 pages also. My website is www.avi-bags.com. My PR is only 1. Whats the reason? Is it PR as i dont have many one-way links. How to incraese PR. I am ready to spend some money to get oneway quality links and increase my pr to boost my ranking in gogole. Please suggest some genuine website which provides such service and it should be cheap. Please also have a look at my website if there is any mistake i designing.I am adding my site to high PR direcotries. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

 

some time there are more competitiors in google than yahoo for a single Keyword ..
with more time you site will perform better in google

 

Yes u r right. But for keywords "jute bags" there is very less competition. My pr is only 1. please have a look at my site. somebody told me that ur code is messed up a bit.
How to check for only backlinks in google(Not reciprocal). Google displays only 1 link with "link:www.avi-basg.com"

 

There's a few good tools for checking backlinks at iwebtools.com and like trocobob said some times site rank better and yahoo than google because there are more competitors on google. Also google uses diferent idexing laws than yahoo or live.

Upto how many directories shall i have to submit to get pr3. Already submitted in 7-8 dic. with high pr. Does google considers the pr of the main webpage or the page in which my link is placed? My current pr is 1.

 

You should have more backlinks.... as many as you want but remember, it's better to have quality backlinks than to have qunatity of backlinks....A 2 backlinks that came from a high PR site can give you also a good PR...

vivek - Google PR is established for each page. However, the one most valuable and used to judge your site from others is the main page. Example, if you do an article (page) with very valuable information you could have a high PR [for THAT page] as many external websites link to that page as source info. Yet, your homepage is continually changing because it's a blog or rotating content...then you need to build links to your home index page.

I'm no expert but generally link exchanges go to the home index page to build the "site" PageRank and natural links (links you didn't request) go to pages within a site as unique / interesting / valuable content.

 

Should i just concentrate on one-way link building. Is listing in DMOZ very strict?

 

Listing in DMOZ not so strict as you think, but you'll have to wait up to 6 months until your link will be submitted.

Getting backlinks will help you rank in Google but don't overdo it.

Some ways to get backlinks include
1. Writing some articles and submitting them to article sites.
2. Submit a press release
3. Use yahoo to find out where your competitors are getting backlinks and see if they will link to you
4. Create a blog with a feed

While all this talk about back links is great, there are quite a few issues with your website that are most likely killing your serps in Google.

First and foremost, you code is just all over the place. If you are going to use CSS, why not make a master CSS file and link all your pages to it?

Second and probably most important to Google is you are cloaking links on that site. There are external links listed in your HTML that are not visible on the site. This is a BIG no-no to Google.

Third, your site is not very authoritative. Just really a store. You need more copy, and maybe consult a professional web designer.

Now the good news, its a small niche so if you fix the issues above, you should increase your rankings quickly.
