Just cam across a website at Sirius Global Animal Organisation where I found the pictures below. I knew that in some Asian countries it is normal to eat dogs and cats but the pictures made me absolutely mad! This is not normal and it actually made me sick just looking at the pictures and reading the story. There are actually western countries who sell dogs to China, Vietnam and Korea. Go to the above website and sign their petition at (Sirius GAO) campaigning to end the export of domestic dogs to China I also posted this on my pet forum
Yah... that's not a really good way to thank cats for driving the mice away and also not a good way to thank and appreciate man's bestfriend.
You ever seen how cows, pigs, and chicken are prepared in the US? Thats nothing compared to how they slaughter them.
its very bad way. the above picture made mad me too. their should be ban on selling of dogs and cats to china which is delivered from western countries. Abhilash.
This is sad to see but we have to face the fact that there are some people who are fond / enjoys eating the meat of cats and dogs... coz it is also being done in our country... But since, this matter has been published on the media and has been featured in some local tv network here in our country, a law against animal act has been now implementing, providing that the cats and dogs and other exotic or endangered animals must not be kill...
Yes, I agree with you but a dog is an intelligent animal which doesn’t belong into our food chain. Dogs - men’s best friend, police dog, rescue dog, customs dog, guide dog and so one. I know this doesn’t mean that a cow has less rights but the line has to be drawn somewhere. Cruelty to animals happens in every country.
A dog is nothing more intellingent than cows, pigs or horses. It's just that dogs have the right build to do such jobs, and they were bred (by humans) to do those jobs. If cows were good at saving people, we'd have rescue cows. That has nothing to do with intellingenc
I disagree entirely. The slaughter of animals sold for food is often humane, relative to simply throwing them out on the streets, or working an animal to death. There is a ban in Californian on exporting horse meat to foreign countries where it is eaten. Because of this, rather than selling an horse that can no longer pull it's weight on a farm, farmers, ranchers, and others who keep horses as work animals have to choose between killing the horse and paying to have it's body removed, or between using good feed on an animal that is no longer pulling it's weight, and then when it dies off, paying to have it's body removed... or illegal practices. This has increased the cost of running farms, for the simple reason that some people believe that just because most Americans don't eat horse meat, that no one should eat the meat of American horses. Further, animal processing plants in California have closed, laying off many workers. Cats and certain other Animals have a special place in the hearts of many Americans simply because we keep them as pets, rather than eating them... but we don't see a problem with the slaughter of pigs, cows, or chickens. One -normal- method of killing a chicken, even in the states, is to grab it by the head, and whip it around to break it's neck (rather than cutting off the head, which leaves the body spasming, and even sometimes running about). If we can stand to slaughter the animals -we- use for food, who are we to condemn other peoples for slaughtering animals -they- use for food?
All animal are the same, the point is western think dogs and cats are pets not for consume. if thinking in a way that other animal are your pet too you might become vegetarian. just a different perspective though.
Disgusted, I know that this is an everyday occurance in these countries but as a cat and dog lover I can't stand to see this! I once watched a documentary which showed what some people do to cats in China, it was quite a few years ago now but I have heard that it still goes on, they dunk them in boiling/scalding hot water ALIVE so they can skin them easily for their coats. That doesn't seem very humane to me!!!
