I was wondering if Dogpile actually searched Yahoo, Google, and MSN or does it just say it does? I have been wondering this for awhile now.

What would they gain from lying about it?

I do not know but by using it, I do not see the same results as I do from using Yahoo, MSN, or Google individually.

Maybe they search a special query with the text you submit.
    Just an idea..

They use Ask, Google, Yahoo and MSN and then have an algorithm that analyzes the results from all four search engines (giving each engine's results a separate value) and then tries to determine the most relevant results to present. The idea is to use the results from all four engines to provide the best results. So, just because a result is first place in Google it may not be first in Dogpile.

I believe their algorithm is really good

Its a great search engine just some see it as a spam engine.. as they tend to use advertising in form of Spam.. (Thats just my thought, not really true)

So in otherwords it doesn't check them STRAIGHT from Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc. it uses another way to do it?
