For sale is this new site. Assume little if any traffic. I had purchased the domain name when I was on my quest for pet names I believe this is a turnkey script. I bought it off a seller on sitepoint. My starting price is exactly what I paid for that. There is an admin panel which is quite nice but I am focusing on the sites I have and ridding myself of these small ones. The domain has a PR 2 (www.) and PR 1 (w/o www.) The url is http://www.caredog.info Registered at Godaddy I believe. Payment by PayPal. You will be responsible for moving the site. I will contact the script creator (or who I bought it from anyways) and tell him of the transfer of ownership. This way you can ask him questions if need be. This site will be deleted off my server in 7 days from the time I push the domain. I have a bunch of sites that people bought still sitting on my server and I really can not have this... Start price $25 Increments $5 BIN (TBA within 24 hours)
Thanks for the bid honey. You are high bidder of bid of $25. I do not think I will set a BIN but instead will let this auction run for 24 hours only. Auction to end 5/14 at 1:45PM EST.
I don't think that is a turnkey and may not be a legit license. Can you provide more information where you got the site/script before bid?
Now I know where these sites come from and I'm not sure you are allowed to resell them. Please check your license so you don't get in any trouble. If I'm wrong, forgive me but I'm pretty sure these are for personal use only when you buy them but again I could be wrong
Here is the person who installed the script, I believe they are the creator. It does say no resale, but I think that means reselling of the script and data. I am selling the full licensed site? I can find out for sure. http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472213
Actually that does look like it is from the legit developer. Also, although it does look like it says "personal use" I don't see how or why it would be limited to only you. There should be no reason you can't sell your site if/when you decide to. You paid for the site, not a license for the script . Of course that wouldn't mean making copies and reselling or using the template to make your own sites to sell.
-eWebCreator websites are for personal use only - No resale rights. That means no resale rights of any kind. Some sites are sold with resale rights and some aren't. One thing could very well be that they don't have the right to allow their customers/clients to resell the content of the site. For instance the site I sold the other day I had Master Private Label Rights to and I could sell it with Private Label Rights. There are some I have that I can only sell the site for personal use etc. It's all in the license. If I were the OP of this post I would contact them and tell them you no longer have use for the site and ask if you can sell it. If so, get it IN writing.
The way I see it, I am not reselling the script, but I am selling the site. I will not be using the script again. The script goes with the domain.....but I have contacted the developer to be sure. I have never seen this sort of thing come in question before.
Hello Shadey, Please copy and paste the email you sent to me asking to resell this. I have not received any question or have given any permissions for resale. -Matt eWebCreator.com
Alright, I just received it. This is the break down.... We sell these websites in 2 matters, a monthly membership and sometimes special individual sales. The membership websites cannot be resold at all, as they are only licenced to the monthly members. We normally never let people sell their websites. However, you purchased a special offer outside the membership. We will allow this sale, of the licence on the domain it is installed on. If anyone is interested in this dog website, you can obtain a licence for $25, but does not include the domain name or PR Shadey is providing. You can find out more details at http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472213 The main membership program is 3 new websites each month, it is only $67 per month at www.eWebCreator.com -Matt eWebCreator.com.
Well at least now you have confirmation that you are allowed to sell it. However the advertising in the thread is direct competition to what you are trying to sell. Matt you are allowing the selling of the site but then undermining the thread by trying to sell it yourself!!
Correct, you can sell a website which was purchased from a forum special offer, but cannot sell the monthly websites which come in the eWebCreator membership. I'm just letting others know that our original offer where the buyer purchased his website, is still available for $25. Thanks to everyone who emailed me about this thread so I could straighten out some questions you may have had. -Matt eWebCreator.com
Matt, my point is that this is very tasteless to post in an auction telling people they can buy the site and put it on any domain for xx amount of money when this person is trying to auction it to the HIGHEST bidder. I think you should edit your posts to only show that the selling of the site is allowed and nothing else. Save the advertising for the correct place. Why give permission and then try to undersell the person who is auctioning the website? Sigh I really hope you "get" what I am trying to say.
Hello Rhonda, I hear what you are saying. No it is not tasteless, it is informing users of facts. I just don't want anyone (the bidders) to be mislead and understand that they can get a licence for the dog website for only $25, but Shadey is including more than just the licence. This doesn't mean the domain name Shadey has, and the PR he has on the domain isnt worth anything, because it is. I just want to make sure people who are interested in just the website and the dog content, not pay more than what they can get it from the original source. I wish Shadey the best of luck on the bidding, because he does include the domain name and PR, which is worth money to some users. -Matt eWebCreator.com
Sorry for all this confusion. Also, my start bid and reserve was just the cost of what I paid for the script.....and as of right now, Honey is the high bidder with bid of $25.
No worries Shadey I just didn't want you to sell it and get in trouble and the buyer get in trouble. Now you have it in writing that you are allowed to sell it. Yes the PR and the domain name are worth much more than just the site BUT I still think you should delete your advertising info!
