I think there is no difference... I checked my backlinks today and I wonder why my top 5 links came from nofollow blogs. I used yahoo explorer and used another backlink tool..same result... I checked google incoming links, still the same result... Seems search engine now following nofollow links?

are you certain that the blogs were, indeed, no-follow (not that i am stating anything new but, some blogs do incorporate the do-follow into their comments).

Actually, it depends on where are you gonna post your link. If you're gonna post to websites that is relevant to your website and people usually search it like yahoo answers, you might gain more targeted traffic even though it is no-follow.

yahoo doesn't care about either its no-fallow or do-fallow......but Google only see the do fallow links. It doesn't give weightage to no-fallow links.

But links from nofollow blogs are still helpful for providing additional traffic for your site especially if they are relevant to your niche..

nofollow doesn't mean 'dont follow', it means 'dont pass pagerank'.

Yahoo shows my one backlink from a page where there isn't URL but just my URL name as simple text.

there is lot of difference between dofollow and nofollow yahoo doesnot care about nofollow but google cares about nofollow so try place your link in dofollow site only.

"No follow" means Google not pass link juice so i think if you think it give some help for getting ingresses page rank then you are wrong.... it's give only some visitors!!!

    Thanks!

Nofollow for Google means not to affect the pagerank of that link. Even if there's a link that's a bad neigbourhood (in case of nofollow comments) you don't have to worry about that as by making it nofollow you are specifying that "I have no idea about this link, Google you handle it yourself"

However, google does follow the nofollow link and may or may not index it. To block the indexing by Search Engines you can use robots.txt or Meta elements

That is why now there is A LOT of talk about Google becoming a monopoly and the government is starting to investigate whether they have a case or not.
