Why should anyone have the privilege of getting a site listed as a reward for being an asshole? Besides, she at least had the courtesy to ask you to clarify your intent. "Mafioso" would have been to make your site "disappear".

That's ok - I can recognize a temper tantrum when I see it - and I won't penalize someone just for throwing one. After all I've thrown a few in my time.

I was trying to get Arcos to recognize that (I'd have to assume she since the owner of the site is a she) she was throwing a temper tantrum, but I'm not going to touch the site until I decide to work in that category. At this point I don't know when that will be.

Also, I'm not the only one who can work in that category. There are 250+/- editors who can edit in that category - and I don't know what their schedules/plans are either.

Who came in attacking? It was not I! My response in defense of the ODP had less to do with me being an editor, and more to do with the fact that I get tired of hearing people bitch and moan about EVERYTHING that doesn't go their way. Start your own directory! (if you've done so, GREAT FOR YOU)

I assure you that I am not up for a promotion.

Seems to me that not listing a site for attacking the whole ODP is not a "personal vendetta", anymore than banning a user from a public forum for making an ass of themselves, and insulting others. It seems to me that Arcos specifically asked to not have the site listed, upon a simple request for clarifiction. So no ethics were challenged in this process.

 

Why not? Just defend the pedophiles and have no morals or principals and you will be a perfect candidate for promotion. It has worked for others.

How long does it take to "touch the site"?

You may not be the only editor who can "Touch" the site but why, after 2 years has no one even bothered to review the site?

with 250+/- editors 'capable'(?) of reviewing this category seems to me that unless there is a favour available it never will be touched.

Small L please remove the site from the schedule/plan. I dont think that DMOZ is a worthy place for listing this site.

If you read my post after that one asshole you will see that I asked for the site to be removed from her 'busy' schedule that has been 'busy for that past two years+!!

Not exactly what I was looking for

I submitted a site to DMOZ to be reviewed by a competent, non retired editor in the hope that the site would be listed on a respected, quality web directory.

Seems that DMOZ is becoming an EX respected web directory.

Posting my views does not make me a jerk.
