    These are no follow links. And nofollow links are not good thing for your webpage.

    It's obvious they don't count because nobody picks them up as backlinks, but it would be nice. My Youtube Channel Page is a PR3

    Please, you people should just state if the links are dofollow or not. Because if the links are dofollow, it will increase the pagerank of a link there

    I believe the link in your profile on youtube is a do follow link. The link in the description does have an important role. Viewers can easily click on that link and visit your website.

    Sometimes even, no follow links are helpful in protecting our website from being penalized by Google. If we perform any black hat seo methods to build backlinks to our website/pages then it may lead to being penalized by google for over riding their Quality guidelines.
