The only answer might be "your" kids have nothing more interesting to do weekends and it's not too hard for me to believe it.

It depends on target industry. If you have site related to entertainment traffic tends to go high during weekends.:D

I have mostly health and home related sites and see a decrease of 20% - 30% on the weekends too. It picks up a bit late on Sunday though.

I just figure everyone is surfing at work Mon - Fri when they are supposed to be working - that's what I did when I had a "cube" job!

Let's keep our fingers crossed that too many companies don't block all internet surfing or I may have to go back to the cube again!

Lol good one :). Guess have to target keyword "smelling mistiks" to get around this problem :D

Just curious , what nice do you deal in ? Don't have to reveal the actual niche, but a teaser would be great ;).

Not really webgraff. I'm a bit into entertainment niche too. And the traffic suffers there too. May be its just the weekend bug thats bitten me :D.

If you are an owner of an entertainment site/blog, whats the extra you are putting in to keep your traffic surviving through the weekends? Mind sharing .

I thought they would be having fun during the weekends, well the smart guys and pretty gurls are hard to be held back at home ;).

    I'm an exception though :p

Health is another stream that does ok for me over weekends. Not many sales, but yeah a few cents here and there from adsense . :)

You are trying to compare apples to oranges. Regardless of your niche, you are going to have swings in traffic.

There are plenty of sites that have more traffic on weekends than during the week. Most of it depends upon your demographic, but other factors could include seasonal patterns, news related activity, or holidays.

To expect that you'd receive the same amount of traffic over two separate sets of variable doesn't make sense.

As with others, my traffic dies late in the afternoon (GMT -5) on Fridays and then starts to recover late in the day on Sundays. My traffic pattern has been like this for as long as I have kept records (since the late 1990s).

It depends. Some of my sites goes up in the weekend, some fly at ground level almost... It is good to mix it up, for smooth flow (especially for nervous ones ;))

Most sites traffic flop on the weekends.

My sites used to be totally dead during the weekends. Now I've found ways to promote in area's of the internet that is more active during the weekends.

Linguist, I dun understand what I'm "Comparing"??.

This post is more like a poll, rather than a "compare". Guess you din't read the post completely! How about going through the thread again and telling us your honest opinion :).
