Its so annoying everytime a new browser gets released, webmasters begin to panic. I am not a designer so fixes cost money, the same can be said for alot of people. So has IE8 messed up our site if so chuck the following code in the header of your pages until you get around to fixing the problem <meta http-equiv=â€X-UA-Compatible†content=â€IE=EmulateIE7″ />
Yup was for the beta was jut looking for temp fix as alot of people have been downloading and using IE8 http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/06/10/introducing-ie-emulateie7.aspx
HOWEVER....there are two issues with this. The first is that IE7 emulation is not the same as IE7. They do not work the same in all cases. The second issue, which I'm not too sure about, is that your page or site will forever be listed as an IE7 emulated site and will never be viewable in IE8 mode. Now, the reason I'm not sure is because my second statement above IS true if you do NOT add the X-UA meta and people start clicking the little IE7 compatible button on your site. Microsoft has a so called "black list" of these sites and, once on, it's almost impossible to get off. So, as always, the advice is never to create sites using any version of IE. Always use a modern browser...anything else...and code to the W3C standards. Then create conditional comments to get IE into line. If you do those simple steps, none of this X-UA crap will affect you.
or just download a better browser like firefox? lol and if you're a webmaster do what I did "This webpage is best viewed using mozilla firefox, you can get it for free here: downloadlink"
