You can significantly reduce the amount of heat produced by the Mackbook Pro during normal use by reducing the brightness of the screen to the minimum or you may use notebook cooling pads.

It could be a problem with the fan. What is the CPU temperature and fan RPM in iStat Pro widget?

Check the fan to see whether it's ok.Maybe you should clean it.By the way, you'd better call their support center
for more details if you can't solve this problem.

I bought one of the first generation of macbook pros (aluminum). I know those have a big problem with overheating and defective fans. I don't even use mine anymore (I bought a regular laptop instead and its 100X better). I would think they would have fixed this problem by now.

Go to your vendor and avail your warranty.
