I have a site that competes for highly competitive money terms. I stopped playing with the on page optimization at the end of June when I felt like the right kind of AdSence ads were being served. The entire site is built with 350 to 400 word quality original content pages. The quality of ads beeing served is not stable; I have great days followed by really miserable ones. On the miserable days when I check the ads it becomes apparent why; extremely low quality garbage is being served that I would never click on if I were the visitor! Therefore on those days my click through as well as per click income fall… It really makes no sense. You would expect that the algo will try and maximize or optimize income. But it seams to me that it caps income. It is incredible that as soon as the eCPM goes three digits for a couple of days, the quality drops like a rock hitting single digit for a day or so. Can you guys share your experience without breaking Googl’s TOS. BTW, forgot to mention that I did make a change in that I added a section targeting code around 10 of October or so. MediaPartners bot has made a number of visits since then. raz
What kind of code change did you make? When I added a paragraph in which I advertised my RSS feed on every page of a blog I noticed a lot more ads about Blogs and RSS feeds which are usually garbage and don't earn much. I tweaked it to remove the 'RSS' word and things like that to omit those.
The only change that I made was to add section targeting; <!-- google_ad_section_start --> At the beginning of text that you want Google to pay attention to and <!-- google_ad_section_end --> At the end. raz
