Does your browser get hijacked while browsing DigitalPoint forums?

This has happened to me 4 times already.

My browser seems to minimize it self or something and goes to this screen that says pc is scanning for virus and it asks me to click crap. I keep forgetting to take a screenshot of it. I usually end task my firefox right away, but next time this happens I'll screenshot and report back.

I'm curious if this is happening to anyone else or is it just me?

A screen shot will be helpful. Does not happen to me. Maybe it is time to do a thorough scan of your system.

it might be that darn Vundo malware that attacked me last week :(

Curse that thing! It's bizzare how you can get such a nasty malware from going onto a website.
It infects your system without even you opening .exe file

I haven't faced anything like that. May be there is a virus or something in your computer?

This could be the result of a malicious banner ad running on the DP site. It could be happening for some users but not others because of when the ad runs. Also, these malicious banner ads usually have IP based targeting on them so that the malicious component does not activate for the site admin or all users, only users with IPs in countries that the ad is targeting.

That would explain why on a clean PC this happens. I've never had this happen to me on DP, however I block most ads on my PC so I don't see anything. :)

I have a problem where the browser is refreshing itself and keeps jumping to the top all of a sudden. I didn't have any problem anywhere else till I came onto DP. It keeps saying Loading on the tab and when it does it says, Readforums.digitalpoint, then it says Stopped and then it says Waiting for forums.digitalpoint.com again. I can't post and had to type this out on wordpad so I can quickly hit and send.

Yes, and I have screenshots. it has to do with the ads. I gathered all the cookies and links recorded, but, I haven't had a chance to compile this into a readable article yet.

PS, best advice I can offer you at this time is to BLOCK ALL DOWNLOADS in your browser. Disable this only when you know you want to download something on a page.

Well, it's good to know my computer is not going bonkers.

Hopefully it doesn't happen to me too often. Sometimes I get careless and click 'ok' to anything that pops up =P
That would be instant virus installed onto my computer

you pc is infected with a spyware! Most of the antivirus dont detect them so just scan your pc with lavasoft ad-aware and spybot search and destroy!

Virus/Malware scanning software windows will normally always appear as a toast or a skinned window, rather than in your browser.

I don't know what a toast is, forgive me. However, the recent affair with banner ads and the hijacking are happening right in the same browser window as the page being viewed. It forwards you on to their malicious page, you can see this when you hover over the back button in your browser.

It's going on all over the net, as you can imagine, coming from ad servers.. :| (not just on DP) , and quite frequently as of late.
