Does Yahoo! ignores no follow?

Yahoo! Explorer shows a lot of backlinks to my website from "no-follow" blogs.
(I did blog-comment not expecting backlinks just because I like commenting on the blogs)

    Does Yahoo! ignore no-follow?
Or it shows the backlinks with no-follow but it does not affect your ranking or page-rank (of Yahoo!...maybe I should call it page strength?)?

    Any thoughts? ideas?
If it is true then is it possible some sites get ranked high on Yahoo! and not in Google depending on how many backlinks are no-follow?

Yes, Yahoo doesn't give a shit about nofollow. Why would it? PageRank is Google's thing...

Just so you know, Google does pay attention to nofollow links. They won't pass along any PR, but who cares? The goal is to rank high in Google's SERPs, not to get a high PR (which is completely meaningless). PageRank has nothing to do with serp rankings (well, it does in an indirect capacity, but in general you shouldn't worry about it). Nofollow just tells Google not to send the receiving site any PR - they'll still give you some keyword authority though.

Oh, I did not know that part. So it's still good to have backlinks of no-follow with anchor text even for Google if you don't care about page rank but only care about serp rankings?

    Thanks

Why so much misinformation - Yahoo does not completely ignore nofollow.
As with Google Yahoo will not pass on any PR or Trust via a nofollow link. The only difference to Google is that Yahoo will still follow the link to index the page which the link points at. That's why you see all your nofollow links when you check your backlinks via Yahoo Explorer or API.

Also I don't see how Google would give keyword authority other than for the page the keywords are on. Since the Google bot doesn't follow the nofollow link (duh) there won't be any benefit for the page the link points at, not PR or keyword wise.

Feel free to read this for more info on the matter:

Very much informative discussion on nofollow attribute, now days it is very much important thing when you are doing link building activity for your website.

I was also not aware that Yahoo does not care about nofollow link attribute Even that is the reason that yahoo shows huge number of backlinks than Google.

Still confused about Wikipedia that is it worth for Google ranking to get back link from there.

Yes. I believe Yahoo acknowledge and counts links that are "nofollow".... :) Cyberpunked is definitely correct.

Unlike google, Yahoo don't care about nofollow attribute that apply to websites and blogs to avoid the transfer of pr juice to the linking site. That's why yahoo give more backlinks result compare with google.

But out of my personal experience ,. I been doing commenting on blogs, Not necessary do follow or no follow Just around 300 comments and my site went it to PR 3 and keywords ranked higher. So Google and yahoo definitely see the back links before ranking and so on

Based on my experiment, yahoo actually count on nofollow.
I just set up a testing blog, not doing any link building but only make post on yahoo answers (as known that yahoo answer is nofollow), and after a week, i get more than 200 link at yahoo but zero at google

Yahoo give impotance to nofollow backlinks too unlike to google and that apply to websites and blogs to avoid the transfer of pr juice to the linking site. That's why yahoo give more backlinks result compare with google.

Yahoo does follow every links regardless to nofollow attribute on links. However, all nofollow links that Yahoo does follow will not give equal value compared to normal link. This is the same like Google does.

You should note this. Google also "does" follow every "nofollow" links either but they do not put pagerank value and give only a few weights compared to normal link. How do I know this? Check out your webmaster tools and you will see that Google do count and follow all links that marked as "nofollow" for your site. They just follow to know "who are you linking to" and "who has been linked to" purpose only.
