    More people use Google so a high ranking in there is more beneficial.

    I agree. However, If you want to do a backlink search, Yahoo is more accurate.

    google: link:yoursite.com
    yahoo: linkdomain:yoursite.com

    It is easier to rank well in yahoo than it is to rank well in google.

    Yes i think you are right when ever you will search for backlinks yahoo will display more number than google . I don't know why is it so but i love it .
