    How does this work?

BTW, you should go to the general marketing and ask this question because this is only for affiliate.

It works by just posting your link in your answer. If the answer is good, it will be chosen as the best answer and send traffic to your site.

And, yes, I want to know if it converts well for affiliates and if any affiliates here use it.

The poster is asking if visitors / posts from Yahoo Answers converts effectively for affiliate marketing programs. Seems like this is the right spot...

I use it occassionally with some programs. Be sure to avoid violating the terms of service for the product you're promoting or affiliate network you're working with. Also, advertising is ususally considered spam within yahoo answers. It can be very effective if you write something helpful; especially with a link to a landing page review.

Here's the real tip though... sometimes yahoo answers can be so effective because it gets not only traffic that your page can't... but it has some great SEO. Sometimes it'll end up at the top of a google search and with a well place review and link; you can redirect traffic to your affiliate review or marketing campaign.

Don't spam and provide real insight. It's a fine line to walk sometimes... Best of luck.

I've seen it generate a lot of traffic, but not so many conversions. I guess it depends on the niche, and the people reading the questions. A lot of the questions in my niche are asked by people who want something for nothing - so linking to a product that costs money isn't going to convert :(

Answering on yahoo will increase traffic to your site and some times better for affiliate marketing also. But back links shows no follow.

It certainly does. You might find the link in my signature useful (Yahoo Answers 101).

So if yahoo answers uses nofollow... do posting provide any SEO benefit? Does it help spiders find your page and get them indexed faster? Thanks for the insight.

Be very careful with how you put your links in. I got carried away and they banned me. I was getting some good response while I was there. If you use your link to answer a question and only put it in every other time you'll probably do alright. This is what I'll do if I go back on like they said I could with a different sign in.

Thanks for the advice donrock. I definately don't want to voilate their terms. SEO is so cutthroat I'm sure it just takes one person to report you using the complaint feature to get in trouble. Does anyone know SEO question? Does a yahoo answers like provide SEO benefit? Do the spiders come more often? Best of luck to you.

hey all thanks for the replies. very usefull

nonyf to your SEO question, I assume that if you link to your site on the posts, it would help with SEO. I say this because I frequently see yahoo answers pages on google search results. So if those pages are linking to you. good stuff.

    hope that helps
