Does Wordpress/com Stats work for you?

I have been having huge problems with wordpress stats, only one site has stats all the rest stay at zero and I know that people are going there lol I even tried moving a site to another wordpress.com account but that doesn't work and nobody in the support forum seems to help. Maybe its my theme? My site is http://www.Sims3Fanatics.com so if you could look at it, maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks in advance if anybody helps lol.

Oh no, its a self hosted site. I tried changing the generator meta in the theme as I noticed that it came up at Wordpress abc as the generator, I checked on some other blog most had Wordpress 2.7.1 so I used that and will check for results soon.

So what stats package are you using?

I had a real quick look at your code and couldn't see any third party stat code in there.
I use StatCounter on my WP sites, and don't have any probs.

I'm using the Wordpress.com Stats plugin I know I don't know how it does it, there is no extra coding in any other sites. I may try the one you use. Thanks.

    While we're here....

Does anyone know a good third party stat package for Wordpress.com HOSTED sites?
I'm using StatCounter on my personal WP hosted site, and it's pretty much useless.

Try using Google Analytics and just paste the required code in your footer.

I'm with you. Wordpress.com stats plug in has been sucking lately. I'm getting the same thing, all zeros. Try the StatsPress plug in for self hosted wordpress. It shows more accurate stats...since I installed it, I see that the wordpress.com plug in is only registering about half of my actual visitors anyway.

If you really want raw, accurate visitor numbers...nothing is going to be as accurate as your server stats. No matter what I use it's always off by as much as 30%-50%, the server stats gives you real numbers on actual visitors, pages viewed, and referrers.

Just to give you an example, I checked today on one of my blogs and wordpress stats say's I have 28 referrals today responsible for 45 visitors, but server stats say 268 referrals responsible for over 800 visitors, so I checked to see if they were are actual referral links ( as I always do)...most of them I recognized as links that have been there for some time, there were a few new ones, and maybe 3 links out of the list from membership sites and such that I couldn't access...but all the rest were live links today, and nowhere to be found on my wordpress stats plug in.

A decent stats program on your server will separate the bots from the actual people, but I have never (even Google Analytics) seen a free stats program that was as accurate as the server logs.

Please make sure you have used the right stats software and install it properly in the right directory. If these two things have been promised, there still came a mistake. Then you should check as follwing: First, the version of the WP. Is it too old? Then you need a upgrade of it! What's more, check whether there is a confilict between the stats software and other plugins. Hope you can solve your problem asap. .

Thanks guys for all your help. The same was happening with me, just loads of 0's so I used StatCounter and it was fine, but I also tried out google analytics, I used it before but it's just more complex and I found out that it recorded more visitors that StatCounter so I am still using both but I reccomend Google Analytics.

    Thanks guys!
