Does website hosting matter for best Google indexing and cache updating?

I've noticed that sometimes google drops my website in its rankings: some days there are a lot of visitors from google, some days not. I have english website sprintic.com hosted at russian hosting. May be temporary drops are caused by big Google updates and such updates are going slow for non-US hosting? I've attached screenshot from GAnalytics of visitors came from google only. You can see drops in visitors for some periods. Why is that?

Also, about one month ago I've bought a blog, moved it to my russian hosting and kept updating it regularly. For two weeks google was updating it's index of this blog regularly, cashing new pages the same day they were added. But suddently Google stopped cache new pages, and kept to update main page only. Why is that? Does hosting matter for google or not?

Also I wanted to ask is there a difference for google if website is hosted at dedicated server or at server with a lot of other websites (up to 1000)? Does it matter or not, taking into account that connection speed for both servers is the same.

I think your better off hosting site in country your marketing it to. Same goes for domain name. If you market to the UK or canada use thier domain name.

Yes, I know that it's better to use .com domain for US-targeted website. But does non-US hosting matter for Google or not?
