Hello, http://www.webnames.ca/ QUESTION 1oes webnames.ca offer hosting for multipe websites? http://www.webnames.ca/ QUESTION 2: For hosting or domain names, is it a contract? Like i have to keep the domain/hosting for a year? Thanks.
I don't mean to hijack your thread but why in the world would you want anything to do with webnames.ca? They are WAY over priced and form what I hear the service isn't great either. For .ca look at netfirms.ca - they offer the best .ca prices and also cheap hosting (if you are into the whole shared hosting thing). While we are on the subject of webnames.ca; does anyone know off hand if it is possible to transfer a domain AWAY from webnames.ca? I have a few clients who are stuck with them paying in $50/yr for their .ca
Hello mikeinsp, I want a .ca domain that can keep my WHOIS info private. netfirms.ca doesnt have that option for .ca domains. Namespro.ca ($12.88 for .ca domain) does have provate WHOIS, but my name will still show. Can i lie about y name? I dont want people knowing that I have the domain. Thanks
http://www.webnames.ca/content/webhosting_comparison.asp?wsID=0f16f4c631ad4530973f03a9e23fa75e&m=2 shows that one account per domain name. And you probably need to prepay one year to get the domain name for free. In Webnames.CA, the .CA domain names are CAD$50/year ( http://www.webnames.ca/content/pricing_webnames.asp?wsID=0f16f4c631ad4530973f03a9e23fa75e&m=2 ) while if you get it from Namecheap, it is US$15.95/year ( http://www.namecheap.com/domain-pricing.asp?pricefor=register ). You should be able to do the WhoIs Privacy at Namecheap. But if you really want a real answer, why not contact Webnames directly, they should know their plans better than any of us. Typically for web hosting which offers free domain name, they probably may just register the domain names in their own name so that will mean you have to host with them for life if you want to continue using the domain name. Some may allow you to pay the domain name from them. It is usually better to just get a domain name separate from the hosting, that way you be sure you can move as and when you like. Like I say, if you want a real answer, email them at .
