Does using your link in signature in forums increase SEO?

I read that the more other sites link your site the better you get. So if one goes to 100 forums and post their links there, does that really hep? And what about if you put it in your signature?

 

Yeah,they do help,specially the links in dp forum.

 

I think it really help your ranking if your using your targeted keywords as anchor text.
