Hi all.... Sometimes we found on Search engines that even if write spellings of keywords wrong, search engines show results of those who have used both correct and incorrect spellings of that keyword.......use of misspelled keywords do help in better rankings on search engines?
It helps in the ranking for the misspelled word, and if the search volume is high enough then people do optimize their page for it. If the page has any PR then it will give link juice back to the homepage or other pages if you link to.
How much volume is the misspelled word receiving? It may not help as much for the correct spelling, but if it is searched often enough you might find it useful for driving some traffic.
It helps ranking in for that particular mispelled keyword but not for your main keyword. I suggest you try to research first if that mispelled keyword is having more search on SEs.
10-20% of those searches are misspelled every single day. When you learn how to tap into All misspelled searches, you significantly increase your targeted traffic.
I have a wordpress blog that is set up around the misspelling of a popular product. Without any bacllinking and with a one page site it is no. 1 in the search for this misspelling. But here's the good bit. I actually get decent traffic and am making affiliate sales from this. Ok it'll never give great traffic figures but it's basically free money as there is very little competition. Andy
May be you can have it as an optional spelling keeping the proper spelling in place on your website. It might get you traffic for misspelled searches, but it is only a mistake by the person typing it. If you are only content with the person visiting your site then you can adopt this strategy. But imagine as a user, if you do the same thing and find a mistyped word on the website you visited, would you be able to trust the quality of the site?
