Does using margin-left: -9999px still get noticed by search engines?

I was just thinking, if I add a div tag wrapped around a load of content and change it's properties to
    margin-left: -9999px
    Code (markup):
would a search engine (eg; Google or Yahoo! or MSN Search) pick up the content???

    yes, they would
they're not just picking up on-screen content

although, Google can read css, so they may catch you

Add the code in a separate file and place it in a directory. Make the directory inaccessible to spiders using a robots.txt file. And then everything will be fine :).

Could you share the plan with us?
What is it that you are trying to keep away from spiders?

Nah, i'm just thinking on a keyword-flooded bit on the site - that obviously is being hidden off the site. :)
