Does using keywords in landing page improve keyword Quality Score?

What makes a good landing page?

Is it using keywords and keyword phrases in my copy that I'm bidding on? Is it having outbound links with the same keywords in the anchor text? If this is true, does anyone know if Google bombing on an adwords landing page has the same penalties / filters as it does in SEO?

It has for me. With every keyword I use, I have a different landing page. Most of my ad groups have a "great" rating. It definitely has a lot to do with the landing pages, as well as the whole web site itself.

Google's QS landing page scores seem far less sophisticated than organic rankings. Using keywords and phrases will improve QS and cut CPC, but obviously you don't want to make the page look spammy so it gets penalized if it is manually reviewed.

Also realize that the keyword selection in the ad group can have an impact. If you have some monster keywords with high search volume but low CTR, they can pull down the quality score for the more targeted keywords in the group.

well "keyword" is a general term...i mean a quality landing page is a page related to a certain subject...and the right keywords are just mandatory part of it.

If you have ads for "used red socks" then a landing-page selling "used red socks"...its just obvious you want to SEO and have the landing page around this keyword..also for keeping adwords costs down.

You cant expect having an ad selling red socks landing on a page for "green apples"....of course the better the landing page the better the Q score of your adwords.

how does this work when you have dynamic keyword insertion via php? Does google test quality score based on the url with query string attached?

wow. I have potentially 50-100 (usually closer to 100) keywords that are completely relevant to the product I'm trying to sell. How many do you use? If you had 100, you'd create 100 different landing pages? I have to imagine that the pages are almost exact except for a few keywords each time, right? Is that for keeping your quality score high? Does it have any bearing on your conversions at the end of the funnel?

That's terrible! Basically, Google is punishing me for trying to bring relevent people through my ad JUST BECAUSE most people don't bite on the ad? The people who do bite would likely be just as highly to convert.

So this deterrent sounds like something that Google is doing, which is actually hurting their relevancy. If people search with a keyword phrase that advertisers don't have ads for because of a low ctr (and QS stipulation), they'll have to try another search. That's not good. G's whole goal is to make it easier on the user.

The best thing about adwords is the dynamics of the ad system. If an group of keywords has low CTR, it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. It means most people don't think alike, and happened to not type that keyword phrase... but some people think differently, and they're just as valid - they're the ones who are more inclined to type that phrase.

Well, you have to understand that "QUALITY SCORE" is from "Relevancy"
so Relevancy are relate with these factors
-Least keywords <20/adgroup (excluded negative keyword)
-Bid high on [xxx] keyword than "xxx" keyword ex. "apple ipod" $0.10, [apple ipod] $0.25
-Put your main keyword on your Ads Head line ex. Apple iPod Big Sale
-Tell the benefit to your customer on 2nd line ex. Get New Apple iPod Video
-Provide a call to action such as Buy Now, Order Now or Get Now etc. on 3nd line ex. Now Low Price Free Ship, Order Now
-Provide great landing page relate your keyword (customer must make a click last than 3 times)
-relate url (use Capital on first character "www.Apple iPod.com
-keyword history (if you got inactive keyword DO NOT DELETE IT just make it ACTIVE FIRST then delete later)
-Great CTR (if you got low CTR just review your ADS or Increase CPC alittle)

    good luck
