I remember reading something that suggests Google give you a better rank score if you use the H tags... H1, H2 and H3. I've seen sites use these tags and change their size using CSS. What's your thoughts to this? Do you feel it makes a difference?
Hi muchacho79. I am definitely sure that the H1 and H2 and H3 tags make a massive difference in improving rankings in Google and maybe Yahoo as i have seen sites rank in top positions for moderately competitive keywords with no meta description or keywords tag and a title that didn't include the search term but that had H1, h2 and h3 tags and well structured content. I always put a H1 on any site that i am trying to ranking and it always makes a big difference assuming that there are no other major negative factors that could keep a site from ranking like duplicate content and duplicate meta descriptions and titles.
Many thanks for the reply Van_Dalus. I'll be sure to put that on my list of things to do. I also have made a recent post asking for a bit of feedback/advice on my website here for SEO purposes: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1310775 As you seem to know what you are talking about, maybe you'll spot things I've done incorrectly? Thanks again, Muchacho.
H1 tag is a definite yes for a page though h2/h3 can be used to make sections that are useful for human visitors as well as search engines.
Yes definitely H1 - H6 tag are important in search engine ranking....if you using your title in your H1 then it will good effect in ranking...
