Does using an API instead of an aStore on my site better for SEO?

    Hi,

I have built a site with serveral astores embedded in to various categories. I have alot of plans for the site as regards to doing my own featured products pages..etc, to build up some rankings on google and hopefully benifit via SEO.

I am also planning at looking at the API feature instead of using aStores. I know aStores are quite rotten for SEO and was wandering if using an API to pull in the content is any better?

I would appriciate any feedback that anyone has on this subject. :)

Also any feedback on my site would also be useful http://www.stebos-offers.co.uk

    Cheers

Using the API is certainly a more elegant solution than the aStores, although it won't make much of a difference for your SEO traffic. The content delivered by Amazon is duplicated so many times around the net that ranking it well is almost impossible.

Cheers for the reply. I will look in to the API as I believe you have much more flexability over the design and what content is displayed. Just need to learn how do it :) As regards to getting visitors to the site, I will just have to try alot more backlinking / blogging and email marketing.

What were your thoughts on the site? Do you think I am using too much of a variety of products? Do you think I should posibly just concentrate on 1 Product?

Hello. The site looks good to me, the layout etc. Think the challenge would most likely be SEO. Any thoughts on how you are going to do that?:D

    Cheeky002.....

you want me to give away all my secrets? lol....:D

Not entirely sure yet. I know I am going to start building my featured product section to the site so i can start writing reviews and articles on a particular product(s). Each product will have its own page with posibly direct links to amazon to buy it. Iit will be like a mini-sub site to my existing site. Hopefully this will all help. I also need to work on my blog and forum and start building more backlinks. Hopefully this will all help :)

I know its not going to happen over night, will just have to plod along and do as much as I can each week.

My site has been live for a few weeks and I have tested backlinks. I have had a few visitors from this and it seems to have picked up a wee bit more the past day or so. So hopefully within a month I should at least have a sale!! ...
