    I wonder whether using adwords improves google search engine ranking. I have seen sites like laterooms.com advertising using adwords and their ranking is pretty goog.

    Is it because their site got more visitors via adwords?

    Paid Adwords advertising doesn't affect the natural search results of the website.

    It won't increase the ranking as it's two separate programs, however now that you pretty much have to do some basic seo work on your site, that may bring about the increase in rankings.
